2. Basic Knowledge of the following will be learned during the program.

Schedule

The Clinical Medical Assistant student will complete instructional and laboratory procedures for a period of 16 weeks with the clinical competencies completed under direct supervision of a campus instructor. Successful completion of all courses is required to receive a program certificate of completion. Students may need to pay the additional fee to obtain skills for Phlebotomy certification if interested. Courses may not be taken in a consecutive 16 weeks depending on enrollment date.

Career Outlook

According to the Department of Labor, as the number of practices increases, the need for assistants will also increase, ultimately resulting in a projected 29 percent job growth from 2016 to 2026. The growth of the aging baby-boom population will continue to increase demand for preventive medical services, which are often provided by physicians. As a result, physicians will hire more assistants to perform routine administrative and clinical duties, allowing the physicians to see more patients . Placement composite average for the year 2017- 2018 reporting period was 85%.
