Dear Student,

I was you not so very long ago. Our desire to make a difference in this world is probably similar. Luckily, I was introduced to dental assisting and I fell in love with it many years ago. Little did I know that dental assisting was going to be such a rewarding career with a ton of potential. 

As a mother of five daughters and as an instructor, it is my passion to encourage you to step out and achieve your dreams. I believe that each of us has a calling and a purpose in life. At School Nameeeeeeee, it’s our mission to help you find your purpose. 

I, along with our instructors look forward to welcoming you to our innovative and unique course in dental assisting. We offer a course designed to give you the skills necessary to start your new career, at a minimum cost of time and expense. Our enrollment process is easy and we will guide you every step of the way.

You are smart enough and you are good enough. Don’t let fear or doubt stand in your way. I’m sure glad that I didn’t. Trust me, if I can do it, you can too!

Cost & Payment Options

The registration fee ($100) is due with an enrollment agreement to hold your place in the class.

The total cost for the 12 week Dental Assisting Program is $4,295 and many students utilize our financing options. Click here to see if you qualify.

If you are interested in completing additional certifications or desire an additional scrub uniform, we offer discounted pricing through these different packages: 

  • SILVER – 5 Certifications: (DAI, Sterilization, Infection Control, CPR, Radiology) + 2 Scrubs = $4,335

  • GOLD – 6 Certifications: (DAI, Sterilization, Infection Control, CPR, Radiology, and Nitrous Oxide Monitoring) = $4,555

  • PLATINUM – 6 Certifications: (DAI, Sterilization, Infection Control, CPR, Radiology, N20) + 2 Scrubs = $4,665

Graduate Opportunities

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median dental assistant salary in North Carolina is $44,440 a year and is rising because dental assistants are in such high demand. The highest-earning dental assistants are earning as much as $57,190 a year. Once you become a dental assistant there are many different paths you can take to advance. After graduating from our program you will have the opportunity to earn advanced certifications while working in a dental office. Additional certifications provide a pathway to continue advancing your dental assisting career.

Dental Theory and Terminology
  1. Dental and oral anatomy, tooth identification, and numbering system
  2. Instrument nomenclature and identification for all aspects of General Dentistry
  3. Dental terminology
  4. Equipment operation, chair positioning, assistant equipment usage
  5. Treatment options available, depending on oral conditions
Receptionist – Front Desk Office Management
  1. Phone techniques and appointment book control
  2. Billing: accounts receivable and accounts payable, collections
  3. Filing insurance forms and pre-treatment estimates
  4. Insurance terminology
Four-Handed Dental Assisting
  1. Instrument transfer techniques, chairside assisting and patient suctioning
  2. Chair-side doctor-patient-assistant positioning
  3. Tub and tray systems of instruments and materials
  4. Familiarity and use of instruments and materials I assisting for:
    1. Operative Dentistry – amalgam and composite restorations
    2. Oral Surgery – instruments, procedures, and post-op protocol
    3. Crown and Bridge – polyvinyl “gun-type” impression taking, temporary fabrication, cord packing, hemostatic agents, introduction into various crown types
    4. Endodontics – instruments, medicaments, and materials; how and why they are used
    5. Periodontics – disease origin and usual treatment methods
    6. Pedodontics – commonality, and differences in treating children vs. adult patients
Radiology
    1. X-ray theory and technique, use of Rinn holders, and other methods
    2. Intraoral, bitewing, panoramic, and endodontic exposure methods
    3. Developing x-rays using the automatic processor
    4. Darkroom care and maintenance
    5. X-ray identification, interpretation, safety, and precautions
    Very important notice: Dental Radiology (2 weeks) Attendance is Mandatory. No Exceptions *Failure of Radiology Safety Exam=Retake Dental Radiology class at cost which is $600.

  1. Impression materials and practice in their uses: alginates, polyvinyl siloxane, etc.
  2. Wax bites, counter impressions
  3. Model pouring and trimming
Cement and Liners
  1. Introduction to various cement and liners used in dentistry
  2. Practice mixing cement and liners
  3. Sterilization Techniques
Sterilization theory and terminology, autoclave operation
  1. Instrument and equipment sterilization/disinfection
  2. Treatment room disinfection and asepsis techniques
  3. Handpiece care and maintenance
Job Interview and Placement Assistance
