In the Clinical Medical Assistant program, students will learn about the human body, medical terms, and safety practices. They’ll also learn how to take a patient’s medical history accurately and assist doctors during physical exams. Additionally, students will be trained on diagnostic tests and the role of a Medical Assistant in a physician’s office laboratory.
According to the Department of Labor, as the number of practices increases, the need for assistants will also increase, ultimately resulting in a projected 29 percent job growth from 2020 to 2026. The growth of the aging baby-boom population will continue to increase demand for preventive medical services, which are often provided by physicians. As a result, physicians will hire more assistants to perform routine administrative and clinical duties, allowing the physicians to see more patients.
The Clinical Medical Assistant student will complete instructional, laboratory procedures and simulations for a period of up to 16 weeks. Successful completion of all courses is required to receive a program certificate of completion.Â
